Complete coverage.
One simple policy.
Protect your business from customer lawsuits, property damage, and forced closures. A Business Owner's Policy (BOP) bundles your essential coverages into one highly discounted package.
- Includes Commercial General Liability (CGL) coverage.
- Includes Commercial Property coverage for physical assets.
- Includes Business Interruption (loss of income) coverage.
Lawsuit & Defense Protection
If a customer slips in your store or claims your product caused them harm, your BOP covers the hefty legal defense fees and settlement costs.
Physical Asset Replacement
Whether you own the building or lease it, a BOP pays to repair or replace your inventory, furniture, and equipment after a fire, theft, or covered storm.
Lost Income Continuation
If a disaster forces you to temporarily close your doors, your BOP acts as a financial bridge, replacing your lost net income and paying ongoing payroll.

The Trinity of Small Business Protection
A Business Owner's Policy is the most popular commercial insurance product because it combines the three most critical coverages into one seamless package.
General Liability (CGL)
The foundational coverage. It pays for third-party bodily injuries (e.g., a slip and fall), third-party property damage caused by your operations, and claims of advertising injury or reputational harm.
Commercial Property
Protects the physical assets your business owns. Whether you own the building or just the tools, inventory, and computers inside it, this covers repair or replacement after a covered peril like fire or vandalism.
Business Interruption
Often called Business Income Insurance. If a fire or storm forces you to close your doors for repairs, this coverage replaces your lost net income and pays your ongoing fixed expenses (like rent and payroll).

Bundle DiscountBy electing to wrap your risks into a single Business Owner's Policy, insurers typically offer a 20% volume discount compared to a la carte pricing.
*Educational tool. Estimates are based on national industry averages and assumed bundle discounts of 15-25%. Actual premiums depend heavily on location, claims history, specific operations, and carrier underwriting guidelines.
Stop Leaving Gaps in Your Coverage
Buying just General Liability leaves your physical assets totally exposed. See why a BOP is the only package that covers the full spectrum of SMB risk.

Do You Qualify for a BOP?
Because BOPs are highly discounted, insurance carriers restrict them to businesses with lower, predictable risk profiles.
Size & Revenue Constraints
Typically restricted to businesses with fewer than 100 employees and less than $5 Million in annual revenue. Large enterprises do not qualify.
Industry Risk Level
Ideal for retail stores, offices, consultants, and restaurants. High-risk industries like heavy manufacturing or high-rise construction usually require separate, specialized policies.
Physical Location Specs
Your primary operations should take place at a specific physical premise (owned or leased) rather than strictly operating on third-party job sites.
Business Owner's Policy FAQs
Executive answers for protecting your company's future.
Does a BOP include Workers' Compensation?
No. While a Business Owner's Policy covers general liability, property, and business interruption, it does NOT cover injuries to your own employees. Workers' Compensation is a legally required, completely separate policy that you must purchase independently if you have staff.
Does a BOP cover Professional Liability (E&O)?
Typically, no. A BOP covers bodily injury and property damage (General Liability). It does not cover financial damages caused by your professional mistakes, bad advice, or missed deadlines. For that, you need a separate Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) policy.
I work from home. Do I still need a BOP?
Yes, often you do. Standard homeowner's insurance policies exclude business-related liabilities and heavily limit coverage for business property. If a client visits your home office and trips, or a fire destroys your $10,000 worth of business inventory, your homeowner's policy will likely deny the claim.
